easyJet Captain

It is with great sadness I heard about this recent event.
As an Easyjet Captain, I remember having flown with Matt a couple of time.

Unfortunately, some bad news arrived yesterday from DUKE University, NC.
It seems I have been badly contaminated as well.

I will be happy to help.

Genuine…what more can I say?

What more can I say… a gentle, genuine, loving guy..

I find it hard to believe he is not here.. I only knew him a few months before his death so I feel it’s selfish to say that.

I wish you talked to me more Matt – I know you were not happy but we could have looked at so many other options.

You were taken from us far too early… at 28yo, I was embarrassed to find out you were older than me.. you looked the same age as me, if not younger!

I wish I could hug you right now.. you should still be here……

I’ll never forget you babe… hope you don’t mind be thinking of you every now and then….

Love John xoxo

The tent incident

When Matt and Charles were staying with their Nanny in Boreham Wood she put up a small tent in the garden, one of those “pop up tents”. In the middle of the night everyone was woken up by this starange noise only to find Matt trying to drag the tent into the house. The tent was twice as wide as the door!!!

EasyJet the early days

Matt joined easyJet in 1999 and appeared in the first easyJet programme on TV during his training. He went went Liverpool when easyJet started and then Gatwick then he became easyJets youngest purser, Because of his languages he was seconded to Geneva for 6 months, then Nice for 3 years flying as a supernumerary only doing announcements in French, sitting on the beach and eating at Popeye’s. He then went to Berlin for a year and finally to Paris. He met some great friends at easyJet who are still close to his parents and brother.
